Age, Simplify, Perfect

The assignment was to scan an image and then make three different versions of it: one that looked old, or in which the content looked old; one that was simplified to its most essential elements; and one that had had the imperfections removed.

Original Image

This is the image I started with. It's a photo taken by my flatmate Deva McNeill of her son Ryan when he was six.

Aged Image

This one was the most fun to do. I played with the filters a lot, though I only ended up using a few.

Simplified Image

The photo was really about the boy; the surroundings were incidental.

Perfected Image

There wasn't really much wrong with the picture in the first place. It was a little yellow from the tungsten lighting and had a few small scratches.
